The Role

As Director - Hospitality Engineering Operations, you will oversee the operational integrity, maintenance, and innovation of technical systems across our portfolio, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems align with sustainability goals, regulatory standards, and guest satisfaction. This role demands expertise in engineering management, problem-solving agility, and a proactive approach to system optimization.

Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Red Sea Global Hospitality employees continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As a Director - Hospitality Engineering Operations, you will need to:

• Operational Oversight: Manage the engineering operations of all operating assets, including preventive maintenance schedules, equipment upgrades, and emergency repairs for critical infrastructure.
• Enforce standards and quality: Carryout regular hotel visit/ inspections to ensure standards and qualities are met consistently. Work closely with the GM & DOE to ensure compliance and influence outcomes.
• SOPs and Admin: Play an active part assisting and ensuring all relevant processes are in place. Generate monthly reports for the Director Technical Services review.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance to the engineers on safety protocols and energy efficient practices. Will be required to advise on annual appraisal of the DOEs.
• Budget & Resource Management: Assist in developing annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets for operating and pre-opening assets. Monitor expenses, manage vendor contracts with the DOE/ Finance team, and source cost-effective solutions. Participate and contribute in the development of the pre-opening budget (POB)
• Compliance & Safety: Conduct annual audits of fire safety, electrical systems, water treatment and engineering operations efficiency.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Drive energy and water conservation programs, including retrofitting systems for efficiency, implementing renewable energy solutions, and tracking carbon footprint reduction. Perform quarterly utilities review on each asset.
• Crisis Management: Lead response to technical emergencies (e.g., power outages, equipment failures) with mínimal disruption to operations. Develop contingency plans and conduct drills.
• Project Management: Oversee renovations, expansions, and new installations, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and compliance with design specifications. Should have the ability to undertake Technical Services responsibilities when required.

Key Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a cluster/ group level position managing multiple luxury or mixed-used assets.
• Certifications in Project Management (PMP), or LEEDs accreditation will be advantageous.
• Expertise in HVAC, electrical systems, and building automation (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CMMS software, and energy management tools (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager).
• Strong grasp of sustainability practices and renewable energy systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and regulatory documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders, vendors, and government agencies.
