Role Overview
At Rosewood Red Sea, an ultra-luxury resort environment, the Painter / Polisher is responsible for preparing, painting, coating, and finishing surfaces across facilities, equipment, or structures. The role ensures high-quality finishes, durability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards, particularly when working with chemical- and petroleum-based products.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Application- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, filling, and cleaning.
- Apply primers, paints, varnishes, sealants, and industrial coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Perform polishing of metal, wood, or painted surfaces to achieve required finishes.
- Mix paints and coatings to achieve desired color, texture, and consistency.
- Ensure proper masking and protection of adjacent surfaces.
Inspection & Quality Control- Inspect completed work to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Identify defects such as cracks, peeling, or corrosion and perform corrective actions.
- Maintain consistency in color, texture, and finish across surfaces.
Equipment & Tool Handling- Operate and maintain painting and polishing tools (spray guns, buffers, compressors).
- Clean and store tools properly after use.
- Report malfunctioning equipment for repair or replacement.
Maintenance & Upkeep- Conduct routine maintenance painting to prevent corrosion and wear.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Support general facility upkeep as required.
Health, Safety & Environmental ResponsibilitiesOccupational Health (Chemical Exposure)- Handle paints, thinners, solvents, and petroleum-based products in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing.
- Ensure proper ventilation in work areas to minimize inhalation of fumes.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to hazardous substances and follow safe handling procedures.
Safety Compliance- Adhere strictly to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure safe storage and labeling of flammable and hazardous materials.
- Prevent fire hazards by following proper handling and disposal of chemical waste.
- Participate in safety drills and training programs.
Environmental Practices- Minimize waste and ensure eco-friendly disposal of paints and chemicals.
- Avoid spills and contamination of surrounding areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
