Job Scope

As the Director of Security for Luxury Hotel - Qiddiya, you will lead and oversee all security operations across the hotel, ensuring the safety, privacy, and well-being of guests, team members, and assets. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining world-class security programs, delivering VIP protection, overseeing crowd and event security, safeguarding hotel assets, and ensuring full compliance with Saudi laws and regulatory requirements. You will provide strategic leadership to the Security team while maintaining a guest-centric security culture aligned with the standards of a luxury hospitality environment.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Strategy & Leadership

• Develop, implement, and continuously review security strategies, policies, procedures, and standards aligned with the hotel's operational and brand requirements.
• Foster a visible, professional, and guest-focused security culture across the property.
• Lead, coach, and manage Security Managers, Supervisors, Officers, and contracted security providers, driving operational excellence and accountability.
• Provide strategic guidance, performance management, and continuous development for the Security team.
• Represent the Security function within the Executive Committee and advise senior leadership on all security matters.

VIP & High-Profile Guest Security

• Develop and oversee security plans for VIPs, high-profile guests, and special visitors.
• Coordinate with Saudi government agencies, security authorities, and external protection teams where required.
• Ensure security arrangements remain discreet and aligned with guest expectations.
• Lead multi-agency coordination for major events and VIP visits.

Security Risk Management

• Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments across all guest, operational, and back-of-house areas.
• Monitor evolving threats relevant to the property's location, guest profile, and operational environment.
• Develop mitigation strategies and provide regular security briefings to Executive Management.

Guest Safety & Asset Protection

• Ensure the safety, privacy, and security of all guests, visitors, and employees.
• Protect hotel assets, financial holdings, and physical infrastructure.
• Lead loss prevention initiatives in partnership with Finance, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with Saudi data protection requirements.

Crowd & Event Security

• Develop crowd management plans for peak occupancy periods and major events.
• Ensure effective access control and perimeter security across the property.
• Monitor guest activity proactively to identify and mitigate safety or security risks.
• Coordinate security operations for corporate functions, entertainment events, private gatherings, and VIP occasions.

Security Technology & Surveillance

• Oversee all security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter security, and integrated security platforms.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of surveillance systems and timely response to incidents.
• Recommend and implement new technologies that enhance protection while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.

Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management

• Develop, implement, and regularly test emergency response plans covering fire, medical emergencies, security incidents, natural disasters, civil disturbances, and terrorism.
• Act as Incident Commander during major emergencies.
• Lead Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for security-related scenarios.
• Coordinate emergency drills with Civil Defence and other government authorities.
• Ensure all emergency procedures comply with Saudi regulations.

Investigations & Incident Management

• Lead investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, security breaches, and guest-related incidents.
• Maintain accurate incident reports, evidence management, and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Coordinate with Saudi law enforcement and government authorities where required.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Regulatory Compliance & Government Liaison

• Ensure compliance with Saudi security regulations and all relevant governmental requirements.
• Maintain strong working relationships with security agencies, law enforcement, Civil Defence, and regulatory authorities.
• Manage security-related licenses, permits, audits, and compliance reviews.

Security Vendor & Budget Management

• Select, manage, and evaluate contracted security providers.
• Manage departmental budgets and optimize resources while maintaining operational excellence.
• Oversee procurement of security equipment and systems.

Team Development

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs covering security awareness, emergency response, crisis management, VIP protection, fire safety, first aid, and customer service.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and guest interaction across the Security team.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills

• The Director of Security must demonstrate exceptional leadership within a luxury hospitality environment, with extensive expertise in hotel security operations, guest safety, VIP protection, event security, crisis management, investigations, and emergency response.
• The role requires strong capabilities in strategic planning, risk assessment, threat management, business continuity, and incident command, together with sound knowledge of Saudi security regulations and governmental requirements.
• The successful candidate must possess outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Saudi security authorities, government agencies, law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities are essential, alongside the capability to lead large security teams, manage contracted security providers, oversee complex security systems, and maintain a highly visible, guest-focused security culture consistent with a world-class luxury hotel.
• The role also requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment during emergencies, and promote continuous improvement through innovation, technology adoption, and sustainable security practices.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Hospitality Management, or a related field is required.
• A Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

Experience

• Extensive senior leadership experience in hotel, luxury resort, or hospitality security operations, with a proven track record at Director level or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience managing security operations for luxury hotels, high-profile events, VIP guests, and large-scale hospitality environments.
• Strong background in security risk management, investigations, loss prevention, emergency preparedness, crisis management, business continuity planning, and security technology.
• Proven experience coordinating with Saudi government authorities, security agencies, Civil Defence, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies.
• Experience leading large security teams, managing security vendors and departmental budgets, implementing security strategies, and ensuring full regulatory compliance within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
