Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Echocardiography Technician role based at Dar Afia Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The Echocardiography Technician is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations, including transthoracic and, where applicable, stress or transesophageal studies, in accordance with established protocols. Day-to-day tasks include preparing patients for procedures, operating ultrasound equipment, acquiring and recording diagnostic images, and assisting cardiologists in interpreting results. The role involves documenting findings accurately in the hospital information system, maintaining equipment and exam rooms, and adhering to infection control and safety standards. The technician collaborates closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnosis, patient-centered care, and efficient workflow in the cardiology department.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical skills, including proficiency in echocardiography imaging, ultrasound equipment operation, and basic cardiology diagnostics.
• Strong clinical abilities in patient assessment, procedure preparation, monitoring during exams, and accurate documentation of findings.
• Solid knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular conditions, with understanding of echocardiography protocols and quality standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to follow clinical guidelines while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Echocardiography, Cardiac Technology, or a related allied health field from an accredited institution.
• Relevant professional certification or registration in echocardiography or cardiac sonography, where required by local regulations.
• Previous experience in a hospital or cardiology clinic setting is preferred, especially in performing a range of echocardiographic studies.
