Job Summary:
One of our clients are looking for Customs Officer who is responsible for managing and overseeing all customs clearance activities related to chemical shipments, including dangerous materials. The role ensures timely clearance, regulatory adherence, and coordination with platforms and authorities, while representing the company during shipment movements when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end customs clearance processes for chemical shipments, including hazardous and dangerous materials.
- Ensure full compliance with Saudi customs laws, regulations, and safety standards related to chemical imports and exports.
- Manage and process documentation through all relevant government platforms,
- Coordinate with customs authorities, port officials, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely clearance.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve any customs-related issues or delays efficiently.
- Ensure proper classification, labeling, and declaration of chemical and hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to customs clearance activities.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade compliance, and chemical handling requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance, preferably within a chemicals-related industry, including hands-on experience in clearing dangerous materials.
- Strong working knowledge of governmental platforms related to customs and trade.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
- Willingness and availability to travel and escort shipments multiple times per month, as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive shipments.
