Job Purpose:

The Marina Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient and safe handover, start-up

p, andlong-term operation of the marina and related jetties within their designated scope. This includes working with project delivery prior to handover, snagging and commissioning. They must proactively oversee daily operations, managing staff, providing both practical and theoretical training to the marina team, ensuring the maintenance of infrastructure, and providing exceptional service to guests and yacht/boat owners. This is a hands-on job requiring visibility in the marina.

Job Responsibilities:

• If applicable, Marina handover from the contractors and suppliers, ensuring project compliance with internal, domestic, and international certifications and regulations.
• Overseeing the daily operational management, including (but not limited to) dock checks, PMP, vessel berthing, fueling, connection and disconnection of utilities, waste disposal, club car driving, security, and environmental checks.
• Ensure compliance with RSG and international best practice safety regulations and environmental standards in all operations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities within the marina operations. These must be in line with related RSG policies as well as CTSC policies and procedures.
• Manage and resolve both staff and customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Staff Management - Lead, train, and supervise the team of dockhands to develop a strong, unified team and ultimately ensure all operational KPIs are met.
• Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews in line with company HR policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive and collaborative multi-cultural work environment.
• Adopting a flexible approach towards working times as may be reasonably required to properly fulfil their duties, acting as a role model for timekeeping and HR policies.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for the marina infrastructure, including but not limited to docks, pilings, anchoring systems, electrical systems, water supply, safety equipment, and fuel station.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for the marina operating equipment, including (but not limited to) club cars, pumps, fire carts, and any other equipment as required.
• Oversee the timely execution of repairs and maintenance projects.
• Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, reporting on these regularly for traceability.
• Health & Security, Environmental and Emergency Response: Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols for all operations, using progressive training as may be required.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and drills, evaluating responses and retraining as per RSG and CTSC policies and procedures. These shall include both internal and multi-stakeholder drills.
• Reporting & Administration - Prepare and submit regular reports on the operations, maintenance activities, environmental requirements, and performance metrics as required by management.
• Maintain accurate records of marina usage, checklists, maintenance faults and rectification logs, and incident reports using document quality management systems and ISO standards.
• Perform regular detailed risk assessments and implement mitigation under management a approval.
• Communication via VHF with vessels with a clear, strong marine vocabulary required.

Job Requirements:

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Maritime Operations, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in marina operations or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing a team and overseeing superyacht marina operations.
• Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations, ERP’s and Environmental practice standards.
• Experience in powerboating or sailing with the ability to handle small boats (under 12m).

• Managing operations from project construction to project hand-over to the transition to full operations - this is a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working outdoors.
• Requires physical stamina, job adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Able to report effectively and regularly to management to achieve a quick resolution of any issues.Willing to go the extra step when required to ensure the success of the project and operations.
• This position is based outside of a major city and suits someone who is used to a quieter lifestyle.
