السائق مسؤول عن التشغيل الآمن لمركبات المشروع، وضمان نقل الموظفين في الوقت المناسب، وتسليم الإمدادات والمستندات الرسمية بسرعة، وإجراء الفحوصات الروتينية للحفاظ على جاهزية المركبة وموثوقيتها.

المهام والمسؤوليات

  • قيادة مركبات المشروع بأمان لنقل الموظفين والاستشاريين والمواد.
  • ضمان تسليم إمدادات المشروع والمستندات إلى المواقع الميدانية في الوقت المحدد.
  • دعم الترتيبات اللوجستية لورش العمل والاجتماعات والزيارات الميدانية.
  • إجراء الفحوصات الروتينية (الوقود، الزيت، الفرامل، الإطارات) قبل وبعد الرحلات.
  • الإبلاغ عن المشاكل الميكانيكية فوراً وتنسيق الإصلاحات.
  • الحفاظ على نظافة المركبات وجاهزيتها للطرق والامتثال لمعايير السلامة.

The Program / Department / Team (Program / Department Summary)

The DREAMS program aims to improve the well-being of 100,000 women, children, and men over five years for refugees and host communities in the Somali region of Ethiopia. Working with refugees and host communities in the Somali region of Ethiopia. The program will integrate two proven models - poverty graduation and Market Systems Development - layering these approaches in a new way that will ensure that the poorest households can improve their income and well-being significantly and maintain Mercy Corps will lead the Market Systems component of the program and will be responsible for developing market access pathways to ensure those businesses can be successful and supporting the operating environment for businesses and communities to thrive.

The Position (Driver)

The Project Driver is responsible for the safe operation of project vehicles, ensuring timely transportation of staff, prompt delivery of supplies and official documents, and conducting routine checks to maintain vehicle readiness and reliability.

Essential Responsibilities

Driver

  • Safely operate project vehicles to transport staff, consultants, and materials.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project supplies and documents to field sites.
  • Support logistical arrangements for workshops, meetings, and field visits.
  • Conduct routine checks (fuel, oil, brakes, tires) before and after trips.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate repairs.
  • Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate mileage logs, fuel consumption records, and trip reports.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational transport policies and traffic regulations.
  • Support compliance with donor or project-specific vehicle use guidelines.
  • Prioritize passenger safety and follow defensive driving practices.
  • Stay updated on local road conditions and security advisories.
  • Assist in emergency situations, including first aid or evacuation support.

FINANCE & COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure adherence to systems for ensuring effective and transparent use of financial resources for timely and informative reporting in line with donor and Mercy Corps policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and Mercy Corps regulations related to the programming.

INFLUENCE & REPRESENTATION

  • Identify, build, and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, local governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Comply with Mercy Corps approach at key government and advocacy platforms.
  • Represent Mercy Corps at all relevant coordination meetings..

Represent Mercy Corps programs when needed.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and ability to maintain positive relationships and composure.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and treat people with respect and dignity.

Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills

  • 5 years driving experience .
  • Valid license
  • Experience or working in the Somali region with strong contextual knowledge of local cultures and ways of working.
  • Ability and experience (a plus) working in refugee and host communities in Dollo Ado,
  • Knowledge of the Somali language must
