Job Title : Operation Specialist - Customs Clearance

Job Description :The Operation Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the customs clearance process by ensuring that all shipments comply with applicable customs regulations and requirements. The role involves managing import and export operations, completing all necessary documentation, and coordinating with various stakeholders including government authorities, customs, shipping line agents, brokers, translators, transporters, and finance teams.

The Operation Specialist is essential in ensuring smooth and efficient customs clearance across air, sea, and land ports, minimizing delays and maintaining full compliance with customs laws and procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Handle multiple shipments simultaneously while effectively managing time, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

• Take full ownership of assigned shipments from receipt of pre-alerts through to final delivery and invoicing (including job creation and closure).

• Provide customers with guidance on customs regulations, shipping line procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Interpret complex customs regulations and support clients in navigating clearance processes efficiently.

• Coordinate with shipping agents to process Delivery Orders (DO), monitor shipment status, and facilitate clearance.

• Collaborate with Freight Operations, Data Entry, brokers, transporters, and Finance teams to ensure timely and smooth operations.

• Plan and execute transportation from ports to final destination while ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction.

• Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining regular communication, including daily updates and weekly reports.

• Utilize customs systems and platforms (such as Fasah, SFDA, and terminal systems) to track shipments, process payments (Mawani and terminal invoices), and arrange appointments for cargo release.
