We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Fuel Blending Specialist with deep expertise in Marine Gas Oil (MGO) blending and petroleum fuel formulation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refinery or terminal operations, a thorough understanding of marine fuel standards, and the ability to develop and optimize blending recipes that meet both regulatory and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and optimize MGO and marine fuel blending programs to meet ISO 8217 and other applicable marine fuel standards.
• Design and manage blending recipes for various fuel grades, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance.
• Monitor and control blending operations, including component selection, ratio calculations, and quality verification.
• Conduct laboratory analysis and interpret test results (viscosity, density, sulfur content, flash point, cloud point, etc.).
• Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to manage feedstock availability and product delivery schedules.
• Oversee quality control processes and ensure all products meet customer specifications and international standards.
• Investigate and resolve off-spec product issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate blending records, batch reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay current on global marine fuel regulations, including IMO 2020 sulfur cap compliance and MARPOL requirements.
• Liaise with customers, surveyors, and port authorities as needed regarding fuel quality and certification.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in fuel blending, with a focus on MGO or marine fuels.
• In-depth knowledge of marine fuel grades (MGO, MDO, VLSFO, HSFO) and ISO 8217 specifications.
• Familiarity with blending components such as gasoil, distillates, and residual fuel streams.
• Experience operating in a refinery, terminal, or fuel storage and distribution facility.
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and laboratory testing methods.
• Knowledge of HSE standards and safe handling of petroleum products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IMO 2020 low-sulfur fuel compliance and MARPOL Annex VI regulations.
• Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) or blending optimization software.
• Professional certifications in petroleum testing or fuel quality (e.g., IP, ASTM).
