Job Title: Sales Officer - Logistics & Shipping
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Sales Officer to join our logistics and shipping company. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, acquiring new clients, promoting the company’s logistics and shipping services, and achieving assigned sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and approach potential clients who require logistics and shipping services.
- Promote and sell the company’s freight, transportation, warehousing, and logistics solutions.
- Generate new sales leads through cold calling, client visits, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Understand customers’ shipping and logistics requirements and provide suitable service solutions.
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and service agreements.
- Negotiate prices, service terms, and contracts with potential and existing clients.
- Follow up with prospects and convert sales opportunities into confirmed business.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Maintain regular communication with customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth shipment handling and service delivery.
- Follow up on shipments and address any commercial issues raised by clients.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitors, and shipping rates.
- Maintain accurate records of clients, leads, quotations, and sales activities.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Follow up on outstanding payments in coordination with the finance department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in sales, preferably within the logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, transportation, or courier industry.
- Good understanding of logistics and shipping services.
- Strong ability to generate leads, acquire new clients, and close sales deals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Target-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Good command of English.
- Valid driving license and access to a car are preferred.
