Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at the French Café Habitat Coffee Shop. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of high-quality coffee beverages and providing excellent customer service to enhance our customers' overall experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a wide selection of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks

Ensure the consistent quality and presentation of coffee products by following established recipes and brewing techniques

Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders, answering questions, and making recommendations to enhance the customer's coffee experience

Operate coffee brewing equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness at all times

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee preparation area, equipment, and dining area

Handle financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and using a point-of-sale system

Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, restocking supplies, and reporting any shortages to the management team

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for both staff and customers

Must Have

Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role

Solid knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and the ability to prepare various coffee beverages

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Good To Have

Formal training or certification in barista skills or coffee preparation

Knowledge of different coffee beans, origins, and flavor profiles

Experience using a variety of coffee brewing equipment, such as espresso machines and coffee grinders

Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices

Passion for coffee and a genuine interest in providing a memorable coffee experience to customers
