Job Purpose:

To perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and technical diagnostics of various types of forklift trucks, with specialization in the overhaul and rebuilding

of diesel, gasoline, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) engines. The role ensures optimal equipment performance while maintaining compliance with

established quality, safety, and operational standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

❖ Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in forklift trucks.

❖ Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on forklift equipment.

❖ Overhaul, rebuild, and recondition diesel, gasoline, and LPG engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and technical standards.

❖ Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble engine components, including pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, cylinder heads, and fuel system

components.

❖ Inspect, maintain, and repair fuel, ignition, cooling, and exhaust systems.

❖ Diagnose and repair hydraulic system faults, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and control units.

❖ Conduct performance testing and operational inspections following maintenance and repair work to ensure equipment readiness.

❖ Utilize diagnostic equipment, testing instruments, and specialized maintenance tools effectively.

❖ Prepare technical reports detailing identified faults, repairs performed, and maintenance activities.

❖ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.

❖ Contribute to minimizing equipment downtime and improving operational efficiency and reliability.

Required Qualifications:

❖ Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent qualification.

❖ Proven practical experience in forklift maintenance and repair.

❖ Demonstrated expertise in diesel, gasoline, and LPG engine overhaul and rebuilding.

❖ Strong knowledge of forklift hydraulic systems and components.

❖ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and operating documentation.

❖ Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

❖ Commitment to quality standards, workplace safety, and teamwork.

Technical Skills:

❖ Engine Overhaul and Rebuilding.

❖ Fuel and Ignition System Maintenance.

❖ Use of Precision Measuring Instruments and Diagnostic Tools.
