A feature can be shipped, tested, and still be wrong, technically working, subtly off from what was actually meant. That gap, between what gets built and what should have been built, is where this role lives. It’s the person who makes sure what Atheal builds matches what Atheal actually meant.

This role sits between business priorities and the technical team, translating cleanly in both directions and following through until something ships, not just until it’s been discussed.

What You’ll Own

• Product requirements and specs. Turn conversations with leadership, the team, and members into clear, written requirements and acceptance criteria that engineering can build against without guessing.

• Member feedback and data. Regularly review member feedback and usage data to spot patterns, and bring what you learn into what gets prioritized and built.

• Cross-functional execution. Sit between business priorities and the technical team, translate

what needs to happen in both directions, and follow up until it actually ships.

• Product quality and detail. Review builds against spec before launch, run acceptance testing,

and hold a standard where nothing ships with a gap that a closer look would have caught.

• Product practices and rhythm. Set up the roadmap, the requirements format, and the way

progress gets tracked and communicated as the function grows.

What Strong Looks Like Here

• You catch what others miss. Attention to detail isn’t a soft trait here, it’s the job. You read a spec twice, you test the edge case, you notice the thing that’s technically working but subtly wrong.

• You speak both languages. You can sit in a business conversation and a technical one on the

same day and translate cleanly between them without losing precision in either direction.

• You ship, not just plan. A requirement that never becomes a shipped feature isn’t done. You

follow through past the handoff.

You May Be a Good Fit If You

• Have up to about 3 years of experience in product management, product operations, or a closely adjacent startup role. Early career is fine if the fundamentals and the attention to detail are real.

• Have worked closely enough with engineering to speak their language: you understand technical tradeoffs even if you don’t write code yourself.

• Have hands-on experience with AI tools, LLM assistants, or coding copilots, even if it’s not the

center of your day-to-day work yet.

• Are comfortable with ambiguity and a small team, where some of the process gets built by you, not handed to you.

• Communicate fluently in Arabic and English.

• No formal degree required. What you’ve shipped and how carefully you thought it through matters more than where you studied.

• Strong plus. Experience in health, fintech, or another trust-sensitive or regulated startup category, and a technical or CS-adjacent background.

What This Isn’t

• Not a backlog administrator. This role thinks about why something is being built, not just logs tickets.

• Not a role for someone who needs a fully defined process to operate in. Some of that gets built by this person, not handed to them.

In a health platform, a detail that’s slightly wrong isn’t just a bug, it’s something that could shape how a member understands their own health. Getting the requirements right, and catching what’s off before it reaches a member, is part of how Atheal protects the trust the whole platform depends on.
