Job Description - Senior Accountant

Position: Senior Accountant

Reports to: Local Finance Director & Group FC

Experience:

• 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with strong audit background.
• Proven experience in managing the full accounting cycle and preparing a complete set of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Hands-on experience in:
• Revenue recognition
• VAT & Withholding Tax (WHT) compliance
• Month-end closing & financial reporting
• Audit coordination
• Experience in KSA market and ZATCA requirements is a advantage.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master’s Degree and/or professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) preferred.

Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on audit experience, and solid exposure to revenue recognition, taxation, financial reporting, and month-end closing.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership, analytical rigor, and the ability to manage end-to-end accounting processes with accuracy, while ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue & Invoicing Management

• Full ownership of revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS and internal policies.
• Manage and monitor the complete invoicing cycle, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance.
• Perform regular reconciliations between billing, revenue schedules, contracts, and GL postings.

2. Month-End Closing & Reporting

• Lead/support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities in line with group timelines.
• Prepare, update, and monitor the monthly closing schedule.
• Perform accruals, prepayments, cost allocations, and GL reconciliations.
• Deliver variance analysis with clear and actionable insights.

3. Taxation Compliance

• Take ownership of VAT computation, filing, and compliance.
• Manage Withholding Tax (WHT) calculations, tracking, and reporting where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and support tax-related queries.

4. Audit Coordination

• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation.
• Resolve audit queries and implement corrective actions where necessary.

5. Banking & Treasury Support

• Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Monitor cash movements and support treasury-related reporting as required.
• Assist in cash flow tracking and forecasting.

6. Payroll Support

• Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy of inputs, allowances, deductions, and related reconciliations.
• Coordinate with HR and relevant departments for payroll-related data.

7. Technical Accounting

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and group accounting policies.
• Provide accounting treatment guidance for new business scenarios, transactions, and policy updates.

8. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare ad-hoc reports, financial analyses, and management insights as assigned by the Finance Director.
• Support budgeting and performance monitoring.
