Position Overview
The
Training & Competency Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, delivering, and monitoring training and competency programmes across the organization. The role ensures employees meet company competency requirements, regulatory standards, and operational needs while promoting a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Competency Management
- Develop, maintain, and update the site Training Matrix and annual training plan.
- Coordinate training requirements with department managers across all operational and support departments.
- Deliver induction programmes, internal training courses, awareness sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor technical and specialized training delivered by relevant departments.
- Ensure employees complete mandatory training and competency requirements before performing operational or safety-critical tasks.
- Maintain training records, competency assessments, certificates, and refresher training schedules.
- Monitor training validity and ensure timely completion of refresher training.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and prepare periodic training and competency reports.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and competency development across the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Training & Competency Coordination or Training Management.
- Experience within Oil & Gas, Aviation Fuel Operations, Petrochemical, or other high-risk industrial environments is preferred.
- Experience delivering training programmes and coordinating competency management systems.
- Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of training and competency management systems.
- Experience preparing Training Matrices, annual training plans, competency records, and training reports.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programmes and learning materials.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
