Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operational Expert in Water & Wastewater to support the deployment and operational delivery of advanced optimization solutions across wastewater treatment facilities. The role will focus on improving operational performance, optimizing aeration systems, and supporting the integration of digital optimization technologies within treatment assets.

The successful candidate will provide technical and operational expertise during Proof of Concept (PoC) activities, ensuring effective implementation, performance validation, and measurable process improvements. This role requires strong operational knowledge combined with data-driven decision-making capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and operational integration of optimization technologies within wastewater treatment plants.
• Conduct operational assessments of treatment processes, with particular focus on aeration systems and biological treatment performance.
• Analyze operational and historical process data to identify optimization opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Support system setup, configuration, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with plant operators, engineering teams, digital specialists, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor operational KPIs and recommend corrective or improvement actions where required.
• Support development of performance reports, operational dashboards, and program updates.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve process stability, energy efficiency, and operational resilience.
• Participate in site visits, workshops, technical meetings, and client engagement activities.
• Support preparation of project documentation, technical reports, and operational assessments.
• Ensure activities are delivered in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–10 years of operational experience within water and/or wastewater treatment environments.
• Strong technical understanding of activated sludge processes, aeration systems, biological treatment optimization, and wastewater operational practices.
• Experience working with SCADA systems, process monitoring tools, operational analytics, and performance reporting platforms.
• Exposure to digital water technologies, AI-driven optimization platforms, predictive analytics, or smart water solutions is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting commissioning, operational readiness, process optimization, or technology integration projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international project teams.
• Fluent in English is essential; Korean and/or Arabic language capability is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across operational, technical, and management levels.

Preferred Competencies

• Knowledge of wastewater process modelling and operational optimization methodologies.
• Experience supporting innovation programmes, pilot projects, or Proof of Concept initiatives.
• Understanding of energy optimization and operational efficiency strategies within treatment facilities.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and operate within fast-paced project environments.
• Project management or operational certifications are advantageous.
