Job Summary

The Power Director will lead the development, execution, and further expansion of power generation and energy consultancy business across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. The role plays a critical part in supporting Vision 2030, driving participation in IPP programs, and delivering thermal and energy infrastructure projects.

This position requires strong expertise across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility studies and tendering (RFQ/RFP/NTP) to construction and commissioning—while maintaining strategic engagement with key stakeholders such as SE, SPPC PIF entities, utilities, and government authorities.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Market Expansion

• Further develop and execute the company’s power sector strategy aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and regional energy transition goals.
• Identify and secure new opportunities in:
• IPP / IWPP projects
• Thermal and hybrid power plants, renewable power plants are a plus
• Energy consultancy and advisory services
• Manage and extend strategic partnerships with developers, EPC contractors, OEMs, and financial institutions.
• Lead client engagement with key entities such as Ministry of Energy, SE, SWPC, and private developers.

2. Bid Management & Commercial Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end tendering process on owner side:
• Market Soundings and preferred bidder shortlists
• RFQ/RFP preparation and evaluation until awarding of contract
• TA services on developer side:
• Bid engineering
• Technical and commercial proposal development
• Risk analysis and pricing strategies
• Ensure competitive positioning in Saudi and GCC power project tenders.

3. Project Lifecycle Oversight

• Direct and supervise projects through:
• Feasibility Studies (FS) & bankability assessments
• Project planning and engineering
• Procurement and tendering
• Construction and commissioning phases
• Ensure projects meet local regulatory requirements (SE standards, Saudi codes) and international benchmarks.
• Drive HSE, quality, and project governance excellence.

4. Operational & Digital Excellence

• Ensure full compliance with company´s Operational Excellence and Quality Management goals.
• Further drive operational efficiency through process improvement, KPI monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration to meet organizational goals.
• Support and contribute to digital transformation initiatives in engineering and project management.
• Improve cost efficiency, transparency, and delivery timelines.

5. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Maintain strong relationships with:
• Government authorities and regulators
• Utility off-takers (e.g., SE, SPPC)
• Private investors and developers
• Ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
• Represent the company at industry forums (e.g., Saudi Energy events, GCC power conferences).

6. Team Leadership & Organizational Development

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project controls, and consultancy functions.
• Develop high-performing teams aligned with Saudization and talent development goals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering preferred)
• PMP Certifications
• Additional certifications (MBA, Chartership) are a plus

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in the power sector within Saudi Arabia or GCC
• Proven track record in:
• IPP / IWPP projects
• Thermal power plants (combined cycle, gas, or steam)
• With a developer, or engineering consultancy
• Hands-on experience across full project lifecycle:
• Feasibility Studies
• Planning & tendering
• Construction and execution
• Strong exposure to Saudi regulatory and business environment
