About the Role
The Procurement Engineer will support the development and execution of procurement strategies to maximize value, reduce costs, and ensure efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of procurement strategies to maximize value, reduce costs, and ensure efficiency.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to provide insights that support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and align procurement activities with project needs.
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of procurement plans that support business objectives and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical specifications, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve service levels and reduce risks.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and process improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of suppliers, materials, and procurement activities.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Support the implementation of best practices in procurement processes and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience as a Procurement Engineer or Material Engineer, preferably in civil and architectural materials.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and technical specifications.
- Ability to evaluate technical and commercial aspects of supplier proposals.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
