Summary
Responsible for diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Internist Polyclinics, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the hospital’s policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical Responsibilities
- Participates in theduties necessary for the efficient handling and reporting of all examinations
- Establishes andmaintains diagnostic services in assigned Internist Polyclinicsin coordinationwith Section Head or Chairman.
- Communicates withclinicians and participates in their rounds and conferences.
- Assists thepatient’s primary physician regarding test utilization and interpretation.
- Ensures high levelsof employee and patient safety.
- Verifies allquality control and proficiency testing and prepare for laboratory inspection.
- Monitorsperformance standards including quality assurance, quality control andtroubleshooting.
- Provides optimalsupport of patient care.
AcademicResponsibilities
- Directs and advicesjunior physicians on patient management, especially in the area of InternistPolyclinics.
- Guides and activelyassists in the training and teaching of Fellows and Residents in area ofInternist Polyclinics.
- Keeps abreast withall the latest techniques and developments, especially in area of InternistPolyclinics, following and implementing them on a selective basis to improvetechnical standards.
- Activelyparticipates in the educational activities and training programs of thedepartment.
- Participates innational and international medical conferences.
ResearchResponsibilities
- Participates inclinical or basic and educational research projects in area of InternistPolyclinics in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of postgraduateeducation and contribute to the national and international recognition ofhealthcare.
AdministrativeResponsibilities
- Undertakes theadministrative duties associated with the running of the department.
- Participates indepartmental meetings and serves on healthcare committees, as required.
- Assists thedepartment in the development and implementation of techniques and practicesthat help maximize the utilization of all resources within the department andacross the Healthcare.
- Abides by thecurrent Healthcare and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulationsand policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
- Follows allHospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- Participates inself and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs otherrelated duties as assigned.
Education
Graduation from an accreditedmedical school acceptable to Hospital’s.
Experience Required
Five (5) years of training inspecialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience is required.
