Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior System Administrator with strong Microsoft infrastructure expertise to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Microsoft environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience in Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, ADFS, identity and access management, PKI, virtualization, endpoint management, and enterprise mobility solutions.

This role requires ownership of Microsoft infrastructure operations, secure identity services, messaging platforms, server administration, virtualization, endpoint management, operational support, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft Infrastructure & Active Directory

• Design, implement, administer, and support Microsoft Active Directory services.
• Manage Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, domain controllers, sites and services, and failover clustering.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments across physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor server health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Support patching, hardening, backup coordination, and operational readiness.

Identity, Access & Authentication Services

• Configure and maintain Active Directory Federation Services, ADFS.
• Manage Azure AD Connect and Single Sign-On solutions.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, formerly Azure AD, including users, groups, roles, and access controls.
• Implement and support RBAC, identity management, and identity governance solutions.
• Support Privileged Access Management and secure administrative access models.
• Ensure identity services are aligned with cybersecurity policies and business requirements.

Exchange & Microsoft 365 Administration

• Administer Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
• Manage Database Availability Groups, mail flow, connectors, mailbox policies, and hybrid deployments.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, licensing, user administration, and service configuration.
• Support messaging availability, security, compliance, and operational reporting.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity and application teams for email security and service continuity.

PKI & Certificate Services

• Manage Public Key Infrastructure and Certificate Authority services.
• Issue, renew, revoke, and monitor certificates.
• Support certificate-based authentication across enterprise systems.
• Maintain PKI documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

Virtualization & Infrastructure Platforms

• Manage Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms.
• Support high-availability clusters, virtual machines, storage connectivity, and infrastructure performance.
• Support Nutanix or similar hyperconverged infrastructure platforms where applicable.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and backup teams to ensure service availability and recovery readiness.

Automation & Operational Support

• Perform PowerShell automation and system administration tasks.
• Automate repetitive operational activities and reporting where applicable.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and service improvements.

Endpoint & Enterprise Mobility Management

• Administer and support Ivanti EPMM, MobileIron, and VMware Workspace ONE, AirWatch.
• Configure device enrollment, compliance policies, app distribution, and certificate-based authentication.
• Manage BYOD and corporate-owned mobile devices for iOS and Android platforms.
• Monitor device compliance and coordinate remediation activities.
• Ensure endpoint and mobility platforms are aligned with cybersecurity requirements.

Collaboration & Governance

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, application, and service desk teams to deliver reliable and secure enterprise services.
• Coordinate with vendors and managed service providers for support, escalation, and implementation activities.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, security assessments, and operational reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure operations and service delivery.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and failover clustering.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, ADFS, SSO, RBAC, and identity management.
• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft 365 services.
• Experience managing PKI, Certificate Authority services, and certificate-based authentication.
• Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, and enterprise virtualization environments.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience with enterprise mobility management platforms such as Ivanti EPMM, MobileIron, and VMware Workspace ONE.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity hardening, access control, compliance, and infrastructure best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident handling, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Required Experience

• Minimum 9 years of experience in Microsoft infrastructure and system administration.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior system administrator, infrastructure engineer, or technical lead role.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft environments.
• Experience working with internal IT teams, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and managed service providers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator or equivalent.
