We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer (Civil & Structural) to join our team for our road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in large-scale infrastructure, highway, bridge, transportation, or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction materials including concrete, reinforcement steel, structural steel, precast elements, aggregates, and geotechnical materials.
- Experience in technical bid evaluation, supplier management, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and procurement packages.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial terms, and supply chain management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Previous Middle East and Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for civil and structural materials, equipment, and subcontract packages in accordance with project schedules and specifications.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and material requisitions to ensure accurate procurement planning.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate technical and commercial proposals, and participate in supplier negotiations.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, construction, and commercial teams to identify procurement priorities and project requirements.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Source and prequalify suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for concrete, steel structures, precast elements, reinforcement, aggregates, and other civil works materials.
- Monitor procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project milestones.
- Track procurement status, supplier performance, and delivery progress, and provide regular reports to project management.
- Review material submittals, technical datasheets, certifications, and compliance documentation prior to procurement approval.
- Support value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality and project requirements.
- Coordinate logistics, expediting activities, inspections, and material approval processes.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project policies, and contract requirements.
