Job Summary

Responsible for managing all customs clearance operations and related activities, including coordination with customs brokers, transportation providers, freight costs, demurrage charges, and shipment preparation. The role involves working with government platforms such as Saber, FASAH, and Senaei, while preparing reports and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Key Responsibilities

• Receive shipping and clearance documents from the Logistics Department and provide them to customs brokers while preparing the required reports.
• Receive customs clearance and transportation invoices from customs brokers and forward them to the Logistics Department for system processing, payment, and goods receipt transactions.
• Manage and process transactions through government platforms such as Saber, FASAH, Senaei, and other related systems.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and follow up on customs duty refund claims when applicable.
• Follow up with customs authorities regarding requests and obtain the required clearances through the FASAH platform.
• Maintain knowledge of customs duty exemptions and applicable regulations.
• Prepare customs status reports and shipment tracking reports.
• Identify imported components within key products and calculate customs duty percentages for each component.
• Monitor freight costs and investigate cost variances.
• Maintain strong knowledge of customs tariff codes and classifications.
• Work closely with freight forwarders and customs authorities to ensure the company avoids demurrage, detention, and delay charges.
• Obtain quotations from transportation providers and customs brokers.
• Negotiate with transportation companies to secure competitive rates.
• Implement initiatives to reduce transportation costs for key destinations.
• Ensure timely delivery of required materials despite current challenges in the transportation and maritime shipping sectors.
• Calculate container transportation costs from Dammam Port, Riyadh Dry Port, and Jeddah Islamic Port.
• Reduce transportation and freight expenses through route optimization and negotiations with freight agents.
• Conduct comparative analyses of current rates against supplier quotations and proposals.
• Organize, prioritize, and assign tasks among team members.
• Rotate responsibilities among employees to minimize dependency on a single individual and ensure operational continuity.
