The Communications Specialist supports the planning and execution of internal and external communication initiatives for the Education & Advancement sector. The role is responsible for developing high-quality communication materials, executive presentations, reports, digital content, and branding assets that strengthen stakeholder engagement and align with organizational communication strategies and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and proofread internal and external communication materials, including emails, newsletters, reports, presentations, web content, and announcements.
- Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns and strategic communication initiatives across the department.
- Create executive-level presentations, briefing materials, reports, and visual communication assets using PowerPoint, Canva, and other design tools.
- Produce engaging written content and storytelling materials that promote organizational initiatives, programs, and achievements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information, ensure content accuracy, and maintain consistent messaging across communication channels.
- Collaborate with branding, design, and external vendors to deliver communication materials that meet quality and branding standards.
- Support communication and branding activities for events, including presentations, invitations, digital assets, signage, and promotional materials.
- Maintain communication calendars, project trackers, and monitor timelines to ensure the timely delivery of communication projects.
- Ensure all communication outputs comply with corporate branding guidelines while maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, public relations, or a similar communications role.
- Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Canva, with the ability to develop executive-level presentations and visual communication materials.
- Knowledge of corporate branding, visual identity standards, and digital communication best practices.
- Experience developing communication materials for leadership, stakeholders, and both internal and external audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and web content management systems is an advantage.
