We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our team and support the execution, commissioning, and maintenance of automation systems for water and wastewater projects across Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for site activities related to PLC, SCADA, RTU, and instrumentation systems, working closely with major clients, including the National Water Company (NWC), Saudi Water Authority (SWA), and Saudi Irrigation Organization (SIO).

The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on field experience, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate directly with customers during project execution and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site activities related to automation and control systems for water and wastewater projects.
• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC, SCADA, RTU, and instrumentation systems.
• Configure, program, and modify PLC and RTU applications as required for project execution.
• Support SCADA integration, industrial communication networks, and remote monitoring systems.
• Conduct site surveys and evaluate automation system requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate field technicians and subcontractors during project implementation.
• Perform loop checking, I/O verification, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
• Diagnose control system faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Review and update project documentation, including:
• I/O Lists
•   Loop Diagrams
•   As-Built Drawings
•   FAT/SAT Reports
•   Technical Reports
•   O&M Manuals
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Coordinate directly with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution and testing phases.
• Support engineering teams in preparing technical submittals and project documentation.
• Provide technical support and training to end users when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in automation and control systems, preferably within water and wastewater projects.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, RTU, and instrumentation systems, including field devices and control panels.
• Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric, SOFREL, or similar automation platforms.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, and DNP3.
• Proven experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control drawings, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Previous experience with NWC, SWA, SIO, SWCC, or similar utility clients is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.

Preferred Experience

• Water transmission projects, pumping stations, reservoirs, desalination plants, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Telemetry and remote monitoring systems.
• Cybersecurity concepts related to industrial control systems.
