Job Summary:
Obeikan Glass Company is seeking an experienced Tweel Operator to join our Float Glass Production team. The candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring the tweel system to ensure a stable molten glass flow, maintaining critical process parameters, and supporting safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the glass manufacturing industry, preferably in a float glass plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the Tweel and Top Rolls to ensure a stable and continuous molten glass flow in the tin bath.
- Maintain the specified working end and tin bath temperatures, along with other process parameters through the Distributed Control System (DCS) to achieve production targets.
- Conduct routine field inspections and report any equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities.
- Coordinate with the Furnace, Tin Bath, Lehr, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure optimum product quality and production yield.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures during plant operations.
- Record operational data accurately and support effective shift handovers.
- Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment-related issues.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards (5S) and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Root Cause Analysis.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Tweel Operator or in a similar production role within a Float Glass Manufacturing plant.
