The Irrigation Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and supervising irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution and optimal landscape or agricultural performance. The role requires strong technical knowledge, site coordination, and the ability to work with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.+2

• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and assess irrigation requirements.
• Design irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and other water distribution networks.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQs).
• Select suitable materials, equipment, and irrigation technologies.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of irrigation works.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for water efficiency.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, landscape teams, contractors, and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and maintenance guidelines.
• Support troubleshooting, inspections, and maintenance planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in irrigation design, construction supervision, or landscape/agricultural water systems.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, site analysis, and irrigation components.
• Ability to read and prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Good communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
• Knowledge of water conservation, drainage, soil conditions, and environmental considerations.
• Familiarity with project documentation, cost estimation, and contractor supervision.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail in field and office environments.

The role may involve office-based design work as well as regular site visits, inspections, and supervision of construction activities. Depending on the project, the engineer may work on agricultural, landscaping, infrastructure, or government irrigation schemes.
