Role Description The Safety Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across GREEN FLASH project sites in Jeddah. This on-site role involves conducting regular safety inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The Safety Officer will develop and implement safety procedures, conduct toolbox talks and safety trainings, and investigate incidents or near-misses, preparing clear reports and corrective action plans. The role includes coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety practices into daily operations and monitoring the use of personal protective equipment and safe work methods. The Safety Officer will also contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing safety performance data and recommending practical measures to reduce risk and enhance safety culture.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment methods, and safe work practices in electrical and mechanical project environments.
• Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans at construction or industrial sites.
• Competence in conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and preparing clear, actionable reports.
• Effective communication and training skills, with the ability to deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to diverse teams.
• Ability to collaborate with project stakeholders, influence behavior, and foster a proactive safety culture on-site.
• Relevant certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
• Previous experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar HSE role within construction, engineering, or industrial projects, ideally in the Middle East.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, including basic proficiency with office software and digital reporting tools.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
