Our client is seeking a Cost Manager with Data Centre construction experience to join a large-scale hyperscale project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring effective cost control, accurate forecasting, commercial reporting, and financial governance while supporting the successful delivery of complex mission-critical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial dashboards.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify cost risks and opportunities.
• Manage change control processes, including the assessment of variations and compensation events.
• Review and evaluate contractor and subcontractor cost submissions, payment applications, and final accounts.
• Support procurement activities, including cost planning, tender evaluations, and contract award recommendations.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and value engineering exercises to optimize project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, commercial procedures, and project governance standards.
• Support risk management activities by identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure effective commercial management.
• Prepare executive-level cost reports and present project financial performance to senior stakeholders.

Experience & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of cost management or quantity surveying experience, with at least 5 years delivering Data Centre construction projects.
• Proven experience working on hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of project cost management, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, change management, and financial reporting.
• Experience administering construction contracts, including FIDIC or equivalent forms of contract.
• Proven ability to manage project costs throughout all phases of construction from pre-contract through final account.
• Strong analytical, commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management/commercial reporting systems.
• Professional membership such as RICS, AIQS, CIOB, or equivalent is advantageous.
