Job Purpose:
To design, participate, plan, test, install, maintain and support the IT communication networks to ensure smooth operation and maximum performance and availability for end users.
Key Duties & Responsibility:
- Plan, design, implement and maintain enterprise-grade technical architecture to support high-speed, converged data, voice, and video networks.
- Plan, procure, test, and deploy network software and hardware upgrades and replacements.
- Implement, maintain and optimize LAN, WLAN and WAN connectivity.
- Implement and maintain routing protocols such as OSPF for fast convergence and consistent bandwidth calculation across the network.
- Implement and maintain BGP for multi-homing internet and WAN connectivity.
- Maintain and optimize routing protocol redistribution to ensure loop-free, preferred paths for critical traffic.
- Implement and maintain end-to-end Quality of Service.
- Implement and maintain wireless controllers.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and topology.
- Ensure smooth backups for all network systems and devices as per the backup policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain network monitoring and management solutions for proactive maintenance and device management.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and upgrades for network devices and servers, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations with proper testing.
- Evaluate, test, and implement minor and major upgrades, ensuring easy fallback in case of failure.
- Monitor performance to ensure network systems availability and reliability meeting departmental KPIs.
- Ensure all network devices and services comply with cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network systems and handle escalations with vendors.
- Provide manuals, training, and knowledge transfer to the operation team.
- Grant the necessary privileges to IT operators to ensure smooth network operation.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, network products and services to enhance user experience and to improve network performance and reliability.
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedures and oversee the implementation of instructions and controls for specific IT network activities, ensuring compliance with procedural and legislative requirements while delivering quality, cost-effective services to customers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, high-quality service delivery, and responsible environmental practices.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure network resilience and quick recovery in case of a failure or breach.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure preparedness.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff regarding network-related issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver network infrastructure for construction projects.
- Prepare annual CAPEX budgets.
- Plan, scope, and procure service contracts.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years of experience with large and multi-site organization.
- IT networks and communication experience within a large, multi-site organization.
- Extensive experience of working with Cisco network.
- Experience of managing WAN infrastructure and technologies.
- Experience of implementing IT network projects.
Professional Certification(s):
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
