Position Title: Senior General Accountant

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

Reef Group is seeking a meticulous and analytical Senior General Accountant to execute daily accounting operations with high accuracy. The role ensures proper recording of financial transactions, prepares periodic reports, supports period-end closings, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. This position contributes to accurate financial information and enhances the efficiency of the company’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Accounting & General Ledger

• Review daily journal entries and general ledger accounts, analyze financial movements, and correct discrepancies.
• Record accounting transactions accurately and ensure proper classification according to accrual principles.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly financial reports and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
• Conduct bank reconciliations periodically, ensure balances match, and resolve variances timely.

Accounts Receivable & Payable

• Monitor receivables and payables, ensure accuracy of balances, and verify supporting documentation.

Fixed Assets & Depreciation

• Maintain fixed asset records, calculate periodic depreciation in line with company policies.

Period-End & Compliance

• Participate in monthly and annual period-end closings and prepare supporting schedules.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and contribute to maintaining a strong financial control environment.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documents and data.

Process Improvement & Coordination

• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, increase efficiency, and minimize operational errors.
• Coordinate with other departments to validate financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Contribute to improving ERP accounting systems and enhance data quality.
• Stay updated with accounting standards and apply changes to daily operations.

Other Responsibilities

• Execute any additional accounting tasks assigned by the Head of General Accounting.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in general accounting.

Skills & Competencies:

• Accurate journal entry recording and reconciliation skills.
• Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
• Ability to manage daily accounting operations and meet period-end deadlines.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative financial team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
