Role Description

The Telecom Field Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, responsible for overseeing telecom field operations and service delivery to customers. This role includes planning and coordinating field service activities, managing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom infrastructure, and ensuring service quality and compliance with technical standards. The Telecom Field Service Manager will lead and support field teams, allocate resources, monitor performance, and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and clients. Daily responsibilities also involve managing project timelines, tracking service issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and preparing operational reports. The role requires a hands-on approach in the field, combined with strong organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage telecom installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.

• Manage and develop field engineers and technicians and ensure effective utilization of resources.

• Plan site mobilization, field activities, tools, test equipment, and service schedules.

• Provide technical leadership and support for complex networks and escalations.

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, root-cause analysis, and service restoration.

• Coordinate with customers, consultants, OEMs, subcontractors, and project teams.

• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and contractual obligations.

• Review technical reports, test results, commissioning documentation, and service records.

• Support tendering and project teams with technical assessments, resource planning, and commissioning requirements.

• Monitor field performance, response time, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant telecom experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibility.

• Strong hands-on experience in DWDM, OTN, SDH, MPLS-TP, IP/MPLS, Routing & Switching, Ethernet, and Fiber-Optic Networks.

• Strong knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, network redundancy, and telecom network architecture.

• Experience with NMS/EMS, network synchronization (NTP/PTP/GNSS), and telecom network monitoring is highly preferred.

• Strong experience in fiber-optic testing (OTDR), optical power measurement, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning.

• Proven ability to manage field teams, multiple sites, technical escalations, and customer relationships.

• Strong leadership, planning, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in power utilities, substations, oil & gas, transportation, or critical infrastructure telecom networks is highly preferred.

• Saudi Arabia / GCC experience is an advantage.

• Excellent command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
