On Target Earnings: £43,175 for CE, £37,520 for C license
Shifts: Rolling roster, work 18 days out of every 28, with two full weekends off.
Standard Shift Duration: 9 hours and 45 minutes, including a 45-minute break.
Flexibility Required: While standard shifts are under 10 hours, end-of-shift flexibility is essential. You may be required to work up to 12 hours (including breaks) depending on operational needs.
Depot Postcode: G40 3JT *This is a night shifts only position*
To be eligible for this role you must live within 25 miles or 1 hours travel from the depot.
As an HGV Recovery Driver, you’ll often work independently, but the moment you step out of your truck, you become a source of calm and confidence. What will I be doing?
- Delivering exceptional service by safely recovering vehicles and reassuring customers during breakdowns, helping them get back on the road quickly.
- Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
- Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.
- Staying solution-focused and compliant with EU Regulations & WTD, representing The AA with professionalism and a drive to always “Push for Better.”
- A full Category C (HGV Class 2) driving licence is essential. If you already hold a Category CE (HGV Class 1) licence - great! If not, don’t worry - we’ll support you in gaining it.
- A valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and a digital tachograph card.
- Confidence using and adapting to new technology - we’ll provide the tools; you bring the curiosity.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
