HOURS:               Full-time

SALARY: £35,000 per annum

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

We are looking for a talented and digitally savvy Writer to create premium, engaging and shareable content for our large and diverse parenting audience. From trending parenting topics to family-focused features and expert interviews, you will produce content that supports audience growth across website, social, newsletters, audio and video, and push notification channels.

You will be an excellent writer with strong self-publishing skills, creative ideas and two to three years proven experience in a digital publishing or content role. You will have a strong understanding of SEO, Google Discover and social referral best practices, with the ability to create informative and compelling stories that drive high traffic growth.

The successful candidate will have a strong sense of what parents need-to-know to live a happier and better family life, stay on top of the daily news cycle and monitor social conversations, celebrity news and parenting influencers to identify relevant content opportunities. You will work closely with the wider content team and use audience insights and analytics to help shape and optimise content performance.

This is a highly-productive role requiring someone who is very organised, adaptable and comfortable producing content at pace while maintaining quality and accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write engaging, accurate and high-performing digital content for Netmums across a range of parenting and family topics
• Source and produce timely news stories, features and trending content
• Work collaboratively with the wider content team to support audience growth across all traffic channels
• Use SEO, Google Discover and social referral best practices to optimise content performance
• Pitch ideas for extending stories across social media platforms to facilitate a 360 digital ecosystem.
• Build, publish and schedule daily news newsletters
• Create push web notifications for each published story
• Source, select and resize imagery for articles using Canva or similar tools
• Monitor content performance using Marfeel, GA4 and other audience analytics tools
• Use data-driven insights from daily editorial and audience meetings to inform content creation
• Ensure all content aligns with Netmums tone of voice, editorial standards and house style
• Use affiliate links where appropriate

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proven published writing experience within a fast-paced digital publishing or content environment
• Excellent writing, proofreading and editorial skills
• Strong understanding of SEO, Google Discover and social referral best practices
• Experience creating content designed to drive audience engagement and traffic growth
• Ability to identify trending topics and react quickly to news and social conversations
• Experience using WordPress or similar CMS platforms
• Ability to source and resize images using Canva or similar tools
• Understanding of email newsletters and what drives open and click-through rates
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Calm, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure.

• Deliver audience growth across website, social, newsletter and push notification channels
• Produce high-quality, clickable and easy-to-read content that is factually accurate and properly sourced
• Consistently create content aligned with Netmums tone of voice and editorial standards
• Effectively use internal systems and tools, including WordPress, Shutterstock, Canva and analytics platforms
• Contribute positively to editorial planning and content performance through creative ideas and data-led decision-making.
