Role Description The Approved Commissioning Services Department Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing commissioning activities for electro-mechanical systems, ensuring they meet design specifications, safety regulations, and client requirements. This full-time, on-site role in Al Khobar involves planning and coordinating commissioning schedules, performing inspections and functional tests on HVAC, fire fighting, electrical, plumbing, and piping systems, and documenting all results and corrective actions. The engineer collaborates closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues, optimize system performance, and support handover procedures. Daily tasks include reviewing technical drawings, preparing commissioning plans and reports, verifying compliance with standards, and supporting quality assurance processes. The role may also involve training operations staff on system functionality and contributing to continuous improvement of commissioning procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, fire fighting, electrical, plumbing, and piping systems, with experience in commissioning and testing electro-mechanical installations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, and applying relevant codes and standards.
• Skills in planning, organizing, and documenting commissioning activities, including preparing reports, checklists, and handover documentation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders on-site.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend practical, safe solutions.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance practices in electro-mechanical contracting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; professional certifications in commissioning or building services are an advantage.
• Previous experience in construction or electro-mechanical contracting, preferably in commissioning roles within commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced site environment.
