The Waiter / Waitress plays a vital role in creating extraordinary dining experiences by delivering attentive, intuitive, and personalized service to guests. This position is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving meals and beverages with precision, maintaining exceptional service standards, and ensuring every guest interaction reflects the luxury, warmth, and professionalism of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional food and beverage service in accordance with Rosewood brand standards and luxury hospitality expectations.
•  Welcome guests warmly, present menus, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on food, beverages, wines, and specialty offerings.
•  Take guest orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring all requests and dietary preferences are communicated effectively.
•  Serve food and beverages promptly, professionally, and according to established service standards.
•  Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, beverage selections, and daily promotions.
•  Ensure restaurant tables, service stations, and dining areas are impeccably maintained throughout service periods.
•  Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service to create memorable dining experiences.
•  Process guest payments accurately using POS systems and follow all cash handling procedures.
•  Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, health, and safety standards at all times.
•  Support Forbes Travel Guide, LQA, and Rosewood service standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every guest interaction.
•  Work collaboratively with culinary, stewarding, and restaurant colleagues to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
•  Assist in restaurant opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, and preparation of service areas.
•  Handle guest concerns and special requests professionally and promptly, escalating issues when required.
•  Maintain professional appearance, grooming, and conduct in accordance with company standards.
•  Participate in training programs, departmental meetings, and continuous learning initiatives to enhance service excellence.
•  Contribute to a positive team environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and genuine hospitality.

Qualifications and Requirements

•  High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
•  Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a waiter, waitress, or food service role within a luxury hotel, resort, fine dining restaurant, or upscale hospitality environment.
•  Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, restaurant operations, and guest engagement practices.
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with guests from diverse cultural backgrounds.
•  Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are highly desirable.
•  Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
•  Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while delivering exceptional service under pressure.
•  Passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable guest experiences.
•  Understanding of luxury service standards, including Forbes Travel Guide and LQA standards, is preferred.
•  Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
•  Physically able to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and perform the duties associated with restaurant service.
