Role Description The Pharmaceutical Purchasing role is a full-time remote position responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceutical products for healthcare operations. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, placing and tracking purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of medications and related products. The role involves monitoring stock levels, coordinating with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, and maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records. The individual will review product quality, verify compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and resolve issues related to orders or deliveries. Collaboration with finance and clinical teams to optimize purchasing costs while maintaining consistent supply and supporting patient care is an essential part of the role.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of pharmaceutical products, hospital supply chains, and basic healthcare purchasing processes.
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills to compare pricing, evaluate vendor proposals, and manage inventory levels.
• Proficiency with procurement or ERP software, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams in a remote environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fully remote setting.
• Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and commitment to ethical, compliant purchasing practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, pharmacy, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with UK healthcare regulations and pharmaceutical procurement standards is an advantage.
