Job purpose

The Service Engineer is responsible for independently performing field service operations related to drilling and completion tools, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality job execution. This role includes planning and executing field jobs, managing equipment readiness, troubleshooting operational issues, and providing technical support to clients. The Service Engineer also contributes to the development of localized service capability, supports R&D and industrialization projects, and promotes best practices across operations in the Middle East region.

Duties and responsibilities

1.Plan and execute field operations involving drilling and completion tools such as liner hangers, stage cementing collars, and drilling tools.

2.Assemble, test, and maintain tools and equipment in compliance with company standards and operational procedures.

3.Prepare job programs, conduct pre-job inspections, mobilize equipment, and ensure on-site operational readiness.

4.Perform on-site technical troubleshooting, monitor job performance, and ensure proper documentation of field data.

5.Prepare detailed post-job and performance analysis reports, including recommendations for improvement.

6.Lead or participate in failure investigations and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

7.Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to Assistant Service Engineers and field technicians.

8.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to maintain high service quality and strengthen technical communication.

9.Strictly follow safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations during all operations.

10.Perform other duties as assigned by team leaders or top management. 

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree or diploma in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.

2.Minimum 5 years of field service experience with drilling and completion tools.

3.Solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and downhole tool applications.

4.Proficient in operational troubleshooting and performance optimization.

5.Strong field operation planning, reporting, and communication skills.

6.Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

7.Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

8.Strong safety awareness, teamwork spirit, and adaptability to field conditions.
