We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Electrical / Mechanical Technician to support our engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, and workshop activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, workshop operations, and supporting project requirements.
The role requires strong practical skills, the ability to work from engineering drawings and instructions, and a hands-on approach to solving technical problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management in sourcing and outsourcing CNC machine parts and related components.
- Perform fabrication and assembly of metallic and non-metallic parts using drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Support the realization, assembly, and testing of electrical systems.
- Support manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and testing activities for ongoing projects.
- Perform maintenance of workshop and laboratory equipment and manage materials, tools, and other resources.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding the servicing, repair, maintenance, and testing of laboratory and workshop equipment.
- Manage company assets through equipment and tool tagging.
- Maintain accurate records of asset movement within laboratory and workshop areas.
- Maintain up-to-date records of equipment maintenance, inspection, and testing.
- Assist in sourcing materials, consumables, tools, and equipment required for mechanical laboratories and workshop activities.
- Evaluate and test new equipment and tools being considered for laboratory and workshop use.
- Support technical staff in developing laboratory demonstrations, prototypes, and project activities.
- Maintain laboratory and workshop equipment to ensure efficient changeover between projects and demonstrations.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and assist in diagnosing technical problems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE requirements, procedures, and safe working practices.
- Support company outreach activities with partners, customers, and collaborators.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Department that are appropriate to the role.
Requirements
- DAE / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication, assembly, maintenance, or electrical work.
- Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings, sketches, and technical instructions.
- Good practical knowledge of workshop tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests in a professional, calm, and organized manner.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
