About the Role

Role Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Middleware & Database Administrator to manage and support enterprise-scale LDAP Directory Services, IBM MQ messaging infrastructure, and database platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in high-availability environments, disaster recovery, performance tuning, automation, and security across mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

LDAP & Directory Services Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain LDAP directory services across Development, UAT, DR, and Production environments.
• Design and manage Directory Information Trees (DIT), organizational units, schemas, custom object classes, and attributes.
• Configure and maintain replication architectures to ensure high availability and data consistency.
• Implement and manage LDAP security, ACLs/ACIs, SSL/TLS certificates, and authentication integrations.
• Monitor performance, conduct health checks, and optimize directory services for scalability and reliability.

IBM MQ Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM MQ environments on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Manage queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, topics, subscriptions, and MQ clusters.
• Configure high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for MQ infrastructure.
• Monitor queue depth, channel health, message throughput, and system performance.
• Implement MQ security controls including SSL/TLS, CHLAUTH, authorization policies, and secure client connectivity.
• Troubleshoot messaging issues and support application integration teams.
• Automate operational tasks, health checks, and maintenance procedures using scripting tools.

Database Administration

• Administer and maintain IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Couchbase, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB environments.
• Perform database provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup/recovery, and lifecycle management.
• Design and support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, storage utilization, indexing, and query execution.
• Implement database security, auditing, encryption, and compliance controls.
• Conduct restore testing, DR exercises, and business continuity validation.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity teams.

Operations & Governance

• Support 24x7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations.
• Perform incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.
• Maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, change management, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

Required Technical Skills

Directory Services

• Strong expertise in LDAP/LDAPS, X.500 data models, and identity management concepts.
• Experience with authentication technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and Kerberos.
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS, certificate management, and Zero Trust security principles.

IBM MQ

• Strong hands-on experience administering IBM MQ on Linux/Unix platforms and appliances.
• Deep understanding of MQ architecture, clustering, multi-instance queue managers, and messaging security.
• Experience with MQ monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with MQ Advanced features and automation scripting.

Database Technologies

• Strong administration experience with:
• IBM DB2 (Standalone, HA/DR)
• Microsoft SQL Server (Standalone, HA/DR)
• Couchbase (Clusters, Replication, Performance Tuning)
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with backup/recovery, replication, clustering, indexing, and query optimization.

Additional Skills

• Linux system administration.
• Scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and enterprise monitoring platforms.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps pipelines is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in LDAP Administration, IBM MQ Administration, and Database Administration.
• Industry certifications in IBM, Microsoft, Database, Middleware, or Identity technologies are a plus.
