Role Description

The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting product demand to optimize inventory and support supply chain operations. This role involves data analysis and collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, and other departments to create accurate demand forecasts. The Demand Planner monitors market trends, identifies risks and opportunities, and refines forecasting methods to better anticipate customer needs. Key responsibilities include using demand planning software, managing inventory levels, and providing insights to stakeholders to align demand planning with business goals.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze data from both internal and external sources to understand factors that affect demand, such as sales trends, marketing campaigns, and market events.
•  Regularly review historical sales data and create demand forecasts that cover different levels and timeframes, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
•   Monitor inventory levels and make adjustments to forecasts to ensure alignment with market demand and inventory strategies.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to gather and incorporate data insights into demand forecasts.
•  Use demand planning software and analytical tools to develop and maintain up-to-date forecast models that support informed decision-making.
•  Stay connected with vendors, distributors, and other key stakeholders to incorporate updates on promotions, delays, and other factors that could influence demand.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within demand forecasts, and coordinate with various teams to address any significant variances.
•  Provide initial demand forecasts for new product launches and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure a smooth launch process.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, offering insights and promoting collaborative discussions around demand planning strategies.
•  Share input with the supply planning team to help shape inventory strategies for current products, new launches, and phased-out items.
•  Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate demand planning accuracy, and support initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
•  Communicate demand forecasts clearly to stakeholders, including preparing detailed reports for senior management.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely product delivery.
• Guide and support junior demand planning staff, sharing your expertise and helping them develop their skills.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices, keeping demand planning processes aligned with current standards.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to demand planning and inventory management.
• Setup standard operating procedures to control and ensure a smooth implementation , points and approvals matrix . 

Qualifications

• At least 5-10 years' of relevant work experience
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills ( English & Arabic)
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• proficient with Microsoft Office and related software
