Job Summary

Enigma Genomics is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The role is suitable for a recent graduate who is interested in genetic testing, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory operations. The Laboratory Specialist will support day-to-day laboratory activities, sample collection, and client-facing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood sample collection according to approved procedures and safety standards.
• Receive and assist clients during the sample collection process in a professional and friendly manner.
• Verify client information, test requests, and sample identification before collection.
• Handle, label, process, and prepare samples according to laboratory procedures.
• Ensure proper sample handling, storage, and identification to maintain sample integrity.
• Support laboratory activities related to genetic and molecular testing.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, quality control procedures, biosafety requirements, and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Coordinate with clinical and laboratory teams regarding sample collection, processing, and requirements.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding sample collection instructions and basic test-related information within the scope of the role.
• Report sample discrepancies or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and laboratory results.
• Perform other laboratory and operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biology, or Molecular Biology.
• Fresh graduate is a MUST.
• Good understanding of basic laboratory practices and safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, and genetic testing is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to perform phlebotomy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain accurate documentation.
• Professional attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the field of genomics.
• Previous internship or practical training in a clinical or molecular laboratory.
• Basic knowledge of DNA extraction, PCR, NGS, or other molecular laboratory techniques.
• Previous experience in phlebotomy or clinical sample collection.
• Interest in genomics, genetic testing, and molecular diagnostics.
