About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant to join our team on a 12-month contract.

This is a specialist role for a professional with strong experience across D365 Finance, insurance operations and accounting, with a good understanding of IFRS 17 and insurance-specific financial processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance, insurance operations and technical teams, taking responsibility for understanding business requirements and translating them into effective D365 Finance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, design and improve finance and accounting processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
• Configure and support D365 Finance and related finance modules.
• Gather and translate business requirements into functional solutions.
• Work with insurance-specific financial processes, including:
• Insurance operational payments
• Claims-related payments and accounting
• Receivables and payables
• Customer-level accounting
• General ledger and financial reporting
• Financial reconciliation and controls
• Apply knowledge of IFRS 17 to finance and ERP processes.
• Develop functional designs, process flows and functional specifications.
• Support integration between D365 Finance and core insurance systems.
• Work with technical teams on integrations, customisations and solution development.
• Lead and support system configuration, testing, UAT and issue resolution.
• Work directly with business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational and financial requirements.
• Review existing customisations and identify opportunities for optimisation and process improvement.
• Contribute to the development and reuse of insurance-specific ERP solutions, accelerators and functionality.
• Support business process alignment across Finance, Insurance Operations and IT.

Requirements

• Significant experience working as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant.
• Strong hands-on experience with D365 Finance / D365 F&O and finance modules.
• Proven experience within the insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of insurance accounting and financial processes.
• Good understanding of IFRS 17 and its impact on insurance finance and ERP processes.
• Experience with insurance payments, claims-related accounting, receivables and customer accounting.
• Experience integrating D365 Finance with core insurance systems.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, functional design, configuration and testing.
• Experience working with on-premises D365 / Dynamics AX environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is essential; Arabic is a plus.

Desirable

• Previous experience implementing or supporting D365 Finance within an insurance company.
• Experience with premium accounting, claims accounting, policy administration or insurance sub-ledgers.
• Experience with insurance-specific D365 customisations or industry solutions.
• Experience working on large-scale ERP transformation or integration programmes.
• Previous exposure to IFRS 17 implementation projects.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can operate independently as a D365 Finance and Insurance subject matter expert, bridging the gap between finance, insurance operations and technology.

The ideal candidate will not only understand how to configure D365 Finance, but also understand how insurance companies operate financially and how those processes should be represented within an ERP environment.

Candidates with strong generic D365 Finance experience but limited or no insurance experience are unlikely to be suitable for this position.
