About the Role

The Landscape Architect will be responsible for managing, inspecting, and reviewing all hardscape, softscape, irrigation, and public realm elements for major civic supervision projects across KSA. This role ensures contractor compliance with approved landscape architectural submittals, material specifications, local environmental conditions, and Saudi Vision 2030 public space standards.

Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Design Compliance

• Inspect all ongoing site landscape works, including hardscape installations, softscape planting, grading, drainage, and irrigation systems.
• Review contractor material submittals, shop drawings, mock-ups, and method statements against approved project specifications.
• Issue Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Review Reports (FRRs), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to ensure strict adherence to design intent.

Quality & Governance

• Perform plant nursery inspections to select and approve healthy, acclimatized plant species suitable for KSA climate conditions.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of irrigation networks, soil mixes, sub-surface drainage, and outdoor lighting systems.
• Ensure public realm accessibility, safety, and sustainable water management practices across all outdoor civic spaces.

Stakeholder Alignment & Reporting

• Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and MEP supervision engineers to resolve site interface conflicts.
• Participate in progress meetings with the Client, Master Planners, and Main Contractors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly landscape supervision reports, detailing progress, quality audits, and site issues for the Chief Resident Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.

Professional Membership

• Valid professional membership or chartership with RIBA, RIAI, or a recognized international equivalent (e.g., CMLI, ASLA).

Total Experience

• Minimum 10 years of total experience in landscape architecture and site supervision for major construction or civic projects.

KSA Regional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Professional Registration

• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

Technical Competencies

• Expertise in arid-climate soft scaping, hardscape detailing, irrigation systems, CAD/BIM landscape integration, and KSA municipal standards.

Languages

• Professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Arabic proficiency is preferred.
