Role Description The UX Research Assistant will support user research activities to improve the reader experience across News Today Press’s digital platforms. This part-time remote role involves assisting with planning and conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability tests, as well as recruiting participants and preparing research materials. The UX Research Assistant will help analyze qualitative and quantitative data, identify patterns in user behavior, and compile findings into clear summaries and presentations for product and design teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include documenting research sessions, maintaining research repositories, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and contributing to recommendations that enhance usability, accessibility, and engagement.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and Data Analysis abilities to interpret user behavior, synthesize findings, and support evidence-based design decisions.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to prepare clear reports, present insights to stakeholders, and engage respectfully with research participants.
• Candidates should possess solid Research skills, including experience with user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and literature review in a UX or related context.
• Candidates should possess relevant Laboratory or experimental skills where applicable, such as following research protocols, handling data ethically, and maintaining organized documentation.
• Familiarity with UX research methods, basic knowledge of UX/design principles, and experience with tools such as survey platforms, spreadsheet software, or analytics dashboards are beneficial.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate with product, design, and editorial teams.
• Relevant coursework or experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Science, UX Design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
