Job Description

• Receives direction and assignments from Physicians and provides technical support to optimise patient care
• Responds to emergency calls such as RRT and Code Blue, assesses the patient’s condition and makes critical care decisions quickly with the advice of the Physician.
• Dealing with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Monitors and administers medication, pain relief and intravenous infusions with the advice of the Physician.
• Dealing with the transportation of patients to other hospitals and continues to provide treatment and care whilst in transit.
• Responsible for the medical triage of patients, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
• Assists with other technical functions, such as obtaining 12-lead ECGs, IV insertion, bag-valve-mask resuscitators, and external defibrillators, for advanced life support applications.
• Maintains a running inventory of medical supplies on the response vehicle and monitors the daily ambulance checklist.
• Overseeing the sterilisation and disinfection of the ambulance after transporting or treating any patients with infectious diseases.
• Maintains appropriate documentation.
• Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his / her educational preparation, knowledge and permitted by the policies and procedures and direction of the Physician.
• Performs all duties in a professional, effective and confidential manner.
• Participates in own performance assessment and identifies areas for professional and personal development; seeks opportunities for development through cross-training, in-service and continuing education. Accepts and acts on constructive feedback related to development.
• Demonstrates understanding and awareness of position responsibilities, accountability and authority.
• Actively supports positive change; identifies problems and seeks solutions in a constructive manner.
• Demonstrates consistent and punctual attendance; conforms to work hours and schedule. Utilises work time effectively and appropriately for hospital-related business. Uses the leave request system according to the hospital policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude towards the work area, hospital staff and patients; accepts assignments designated by the Supervisor.
• Supports the mission and values of KFUPM Medical Center. Meets performance expectations described in this performance appraisal document. Follows the Medical Center policies and procedures, including dress code, non-smoking policy, sick leave, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical or equivalent from an accredited Institute
• IELTS (6.5) AND ABOVE
• Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialities (SCFHS) Classification and Registration.
• Maintenance of current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS.
• EVOS certificate
