Role: MEP Project Controls Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia- Riyadh
Summary
Jones Engineering Group is looking to hire an energetic MEP Project Controls Engineer with an overall responsibility for all site MEP Planning and reporting requirements both Operational and Commercial. This includes progress reporting, lookahead schedules and Primavera programme management.
Project Controls Engineer will manage the information across all project stakeholder departments to allow leadership team to have an accurate project status at all times. Close collaboration with all project leads is a primary to ensure concise and accurate reporting statistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct line of report Project Manager during execution / Pre-Construction Manager during tender.
- Assist Pre- Construction Manager and Estimating Team to ensure robust tendering and manage the preparation of the master programme (Primavera) in line with overall project timeframe, including resource loading as applicable and directed.
- Manage and review construction programmes received from contractors and analyse them in line with the contractual requirements.
- Critique tender documentation / Pre-Construction project handover documentation, identify project scheduling risks with project Team.
- Interface with the project management team and all key project stakeholders.
- Daily tracking and regular reporting of planned vs actual. Identify risks to all activities, particularly critical path and activities impacting other contractors or client.
- Make recommendations for possible acceleration of the project programme.
- Monitoring and reporting of project manpower both direct and in-direct to ensure resource levels are in line with project resource projections.
- Provide reports to the QS and Project Manager for the purpose of progress applications, delay notices as applicable and any other project control requirements.
- Preparation of 2 week and 4-week Schedule lookaheads for progress monitoring and target the team efforts in line with the schedule. 'Dropline' schedule typically every 2 weeks to identify delays and allow efficient mitigation measures to be implemented.
- Manage the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports/presentations for the client.
- Manage the weekly and monthly progress reporting protocols / templates for progress reporting and monitoring progress against project programme.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders for the preparation of risk assessments and delay mitigation plans.
- Ensure procurement, material and submittal logs are always created and maintained up to date.
- Manage and identify long lead items, track and report progress for expediting timely delivery.
- Cost reporting (with data provided by others) in coordination with the project QS and Project Manager.
- Identify claims for EOT and present data to challenge any subcontractor claims and EOT requests.
- Review and assess any claims for variations or change orders from the main contractor or client in coordination with project team and inform the project manager and commercial team of any potential cost impact.
- Ensure all project execution issues are reported and addressed in coordination with the project stakeholders.
- Arrange and manage planning workshops/meetings to discuss and assist contractors / consultants to close any planning / project control issues. Record minutes of meetings as applicable.
- Preparation and distribution of regular weekly and monthly reports.
- Prepare escalation reports for the project management team.
- Providing support during project closeout, including final cost reporting and project documentation
- Provide scheduling support to Construction Managers as required to ensure the installation meets the programme.
- Ensure preparation of all deliverables MR’s / RFQs, Shop Drawings, MIR’s, etc. are in line with project programme.
- Arrange and attend weekly meetings as required and arrange Minutes of meetings for records.
- Monitor progress and status of document control and report overdue submittals and returns.
- Progress monitoring of red-line drawings and As-built drawings in coordination with Construction Teams and QA/QC teams.
- Ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the Project Manager and client.
- Escalate to Project Manager any scheduling issues arising that may affect project programme.
- Supervise, develop and mentor project staff.
- Perform Earned Value Analysis on a resource loaded programme that includes but is not limited to productivity analysis, progress packages monitoring and labour packages monitoring.
- Perform window-analysis and float path analysis on programme updates and advise leadership team on weekly basis.

Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with MEP building services contractors.
- Data center MEP construction experience is a must.
- Minimum 3 years GCC experience is preferrable.
- Able to handle a data center project independently.
- Advance Primavera P6
- Advance MS-Excel
- Understand MEP construction sequence
- Good Presentation Skills
