Position Description

The Deployment Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and executing software deployments, ensuring the successful delivery of software releases to production environments while minimizing risk and disruption to operations

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, quality assurance, infrastructure, and operations teams, to plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments according to release schedules and deployment plans.
• Develop and maintain deployment scripts, automation tools, and deployment pipelines to streamline and automate the deployment process, reducing manual effort and errors and improving deployment efficiency and reliability.
• Monitor deployment activities during and after deployment, verify successful completion, and troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors encountered during the deployment process to ensure successful delivery of software releases.
• Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to release processes, tools, and methodologies

Key Activities

• Participate in post-deployment activities, including post-deployment validation, performance testing, and incident management, to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of deployed software.
• Assist in preparing release notes, documenting key features, enhancements, and fixes included in each release
• Document deployment processes, procedures, and best practices, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deployment activities, configurations, and changes to support audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Work Experience

1-3 years of experience in software deployment, release management, or related roles.
