Industrial Information Systems Expert

Provide expertise on industrial IT solutions (implementation, support, continuous improvement) : level 2 (RTT/SCADA), level 3 (MES), industry 4.0 solutions, specific industrial solutions, and their integration with ERP and automation systems.

Scope

• Entities : Vallourec Saudi Arabia
• Sites : Vallourec Saudi Arabia plant, Dammam, Second Industrial City
• Scope : Industrial IT, with the support of other VDIS teams
• Industrial IT information systems :
• Main information systems : MES, RTT (=SCADA)
• Digital solutions : Smartengo Inventory (SI), Digital Log Sheet (DLS), Realtime Threading Performance (RTP), Fabriq…

• Specific industrial solutions :
• Industrial computers running specific solutions (machine-specific software, automation software)
• Production CCTV
• Other industrial solutions with a functional aspect
• Integration with other solutions : ERPs, automation
• ERPs, PLCs and automation are out of scope apart from integration points

Responsibilities

Evolutions/Run projects/Projects :

• Manage projects
• Understand and analyze business requirements, convert them into IT requirements
• Follow-up the realization with the teams in charge of the solutions (Application Managers, Product Owners)
• Follow-up the topics with the various stakeholders
• Organize and coordinate user acceptance tests
• Coordinate the new solutions/changes implementation/commissioning/ramp-up

Take the ownership and develop a deep understanding of the various solutions, develop the relations with Operations teams/solutions owners :

• Understand the processes/flows (functional part)
• Understand the special software (functional and technical part)
• Understand the underlying infrastructure (technical part) : hardware/software, stations location
• Document the solutions
• Join VSA routine meetings (VMS, SMT…)
• Animate the industrial IT solutions governance (follow-up meetings…)

Run activities:

• Support users on the industrial IT scope
• Track support requests
• Identify the improvement opportunities
• Support the resolution of issues/problems with an industrial IT component through workshops, CITs
• Provide training

Assets management activities :

• Maintain IT hardware and software inventories on the scope : special industrial computers, special software, solution-specific mobile devices
• Identify obsolescence points, put these under control in collaboration with the operations teams and the Global Infrastructure teams

Take the ownership and develop a deep understanding of the various solutions, develop the relations with Operations teams :

• Be the referent for industrial information systems
• Establish and formalize a close collaboration with operational teams and solutions owners
• Give the operations team visibility on the industrial IT solutions

Capitalize the knowledge in the documentation portal

• Run activities:
• Make sure the support requests are logged, monitored, closed
• Provide advanced support when needed (workshops, CITs)

• Assets management activities :
• Keep IT hardware and software inventories in the scope up-to-date
• Keep these assets lifecycle under control
• Ensure the respect of the Group standards (HSE, governance, infrastructure, security, sourcing, HR…)

Health, Safety and Environment

• Vallourec Saudi Arabia is an industrial site, the Industrial IT Manager works in the IT domain
• The Industrial IT Manager knows and complies to all HSE rules applicable to the site and the Group

EDUCATION

• Industrial information systems-oriented Computer Engineering/Science Masters’s degree
• Project management certifications are plus

Skills

• Deep understanding of industrial IT solutions (automation pyramid)
• Technical IT background : general knowledge about servers, networks, computers, security
• Projects management
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is a plus (CITs, PDCA method…)
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and autonomy, high level of curiosity
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with both local and remote teams

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 10-year experience in the management of industrial IT solutions (level 2/3 solutions) as systems analyst/functional consultant, with a significant experience deploying/improving industrial IT solutions
• Experience with ERPs (SAP, Oracle,…) is a plus
• Experience with automation solutions is a plus

Technical environment

• In-house level 2 solution for real-time production tracking
• Specific level 3 solution (PSI) for MES
• SAP as ERP
• Various in-house digital solutions for yard management, production performance monitoring, digitalization
• Various vendor-specific software to control the machines

LANGUISTIC KNOWLEDGE

• Good English (written, spoken) is mandatory
• Arabic, French are plus
