The role of a POS Merchant Reconciliation and Settlement Manager involves overseeing the reconciliation and settlement of transactions for merchants. Key responsibilities include:
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of merchant transactions across POS and e-commerce platforms.
- Reconciling settlement reports from card schemes (Visa, MasterCard,MADA) with internal merchant system.
- Managing and monitoring daily, weekly & monthly SLA with MSP/vendors.
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation breaks or mismatches in a timely manner.
- Verifying that merchant payments are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Reconciling merchant chargebacks in the event of disputed card transactions.
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory register for POS devices, SIM cards, paper rolls, chargers, cables, and all other consumables.
- Conducting monthly checks to confirm current physical stock against system records in TMS and Asset Finance register.
- Flagging discrepancies for immediate investigation and resolution.
- Establishing accurate re-order levels based on usage trends, lead times, vendor delivery timelines, and business growth.
- Fully aware of SAMA and Scheme regulation.
Qualifications
Core Experience
7 - 10+ years in:
- Card operations
- Merchant acquiring
- POS operations
- Payment reconciliation
- Settlement operations
- Chargeback/dispute operations
- Scheme settlement (Visa/Mastercard)
Technical / Operational Knowledge
Strong Understanding Of
- Merchant acquiring lifecycle
- MSPs relationship management/SLA
- SAMA/Saudi Payment TMS processing
- POS transaction flow
- Settlement & funding processes
- GL reconciliation
- Suspense account management
- Exception handling
- Scheme reports
- Merchant fee calculations (MSF/interchange)
- T+1 / T+2 settlement cycles
Systems & Tools
Experience with:
- Reconciliation systems
- Excel (advanced)
