Role Description The Micro Tunneling Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring micro tunneling machines and associated equipment during underground pipeline installation projects. This full-time, on-site role is based in Saudi Arabia and involves setting up machinery, aligning and launching micro tunneling systems, and ensuring accurate tunnel boring according to project specifications. The operator will inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and report any mechanical issues to supervisors or maintenance teams. Daily tasks include checking slurry and guidance systems, recording operational parameters, coordinating with site engineers and crew members, and following safety procedures and environmental standards. The role also requires adherence to project schedules, participation in site briefings, and support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating micro tunneling or similar trenchless technology equipment, with strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with underground pipeline installation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, alignment data, and project specifications, including basic understanding of survey and guidance systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for construction sites, confined spaces, and heavy machinery, with commitment to safe work practices and use of PPE.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical components of tunneling equipment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and crew members from diverse backgrounds.
• Prior experience in civil construction, utilities, or pipeline projects, preferably within trenchless technology or tunneling operations.
• Willingness to work on rotational shifts, extended hours, or variable site conditions as required by project schedules.
• High school diploma or relevant technical/vocational certification in mechanical, civil, or industrial fields; additional training in tunneling or trenchless methods is an advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate operational logs, and adapt to new tools or technologies introduced on site.
